3D Overview - Known as 'Thumpers', 'Oxteds' or 'Sussex' units
19 units entered service during 1962 and were 3 car (coded 3D, DMBS + TS + DTC).
The original unit numbers of 1301 to 1319 were renumbered as 207001-207019.
In 2004 the last units were withdrawn from service and 3 units went into preservation .

They are BR MK1 design, 8' 6" width, 63' 5" over headstocks and 46' 6" bogie centres.
Buckeye couplers and rubbing plates throughout, at cab ends drophead buckeye+buffers.
The units can work in multiple with other DEMU types. No gangways between coaches.
